Official patch
Download Pokémon SoulGold
The official SoulGold download is a Hackdex patch. Patching is local. This site does not host ROMs, and neither does Hackdex.
Current version observed on Hackdex on 2026-08-19: v1.0.4.5, released 2026-08-19. Always check Hackdex for a newer build before reporting bugs.
What you need
- A legally obtained Pokémon Emerald GBA dump. SoulGold is an Emerald-based pokeemerald-expansion hack.
- The Hackdex page for SoulGold. Agree to the terms and run Agree and Patch. Your ROM does not leave your device.
- A supported emulator from the Hackdex listing:
- Real hardware
- mGBA (desktop and RetroArch on PC, Android, iOS)
- Lemuroid (Android)
- Manic with the mGBA core (iOS)
What this page will not do
We will not link “SoulGold ROM” mirrors or delta patches from random aggregators. Official distribution is the Hackdex patcher. If you searched for a ROM, you still need your own Emerald dump plus that patch.
After you patch
- Play in the reserved browser player by loading the patched file yourself.
- Read the FAQ for save compatibility (official: saves are always compatible between versions).
- Use official docs for the Pokédex and guides.
Mods
This site does not maintain a separate mods catalog. Start from the official v1.0.4.5 patch and treat add-on patches as unofficial unless the author posts them.
