Daily reset

SoulGold Hidden Grotto Locations

Official Hidden Grotto guide: interact with suspicious paths behind trees. Grottos reset daily and can roll a Pokémon, a generic item, or a grotto-specific item.

How a refresh is rolled

  • Interact with a suspicious path behind trees to enter.
  • The grotto repopulates once per day, or immediately after using a Beckoning Bell.
  • The dedicated guide gives a 60% Pokémon roll, 32% generic-item roll, and 8% grotto-specific item roll.
  • When the Pokémon result wins, each of the four listed species is equally likely. That makes one specific species a 15% chance per full refresh.
  • Every grotto Pokémon has its Hidden Ability and at least two guaranteed 31 IVs.

Route 32: the interactable opening is tucked into a line of trees rather than marked as a normal cave entrance.

Refresh planning

  1. Collect the free Beckoning Bell from the Ilex Forest NPC.
  2. After Gym 3, use the Battle Factory as the repeatable Bell source.
  3. Visit all currently reachable grottos before spending Bells, since the natural daily refresh applies separately.
  4. Save before entering only if you are testing the result behavior for your current build; do not assume a simple reload changes every roll.
  5. For a particular Pokémon, plan around the 15% per-refresh rate and the value of its guaranteed Hidden Ability/two perfect IVs.

Item reminder: the item named in the table is only the special 8% result for that grotto. It is not guaranteed when the grotto contains an item. (The official FAQ rounds the split to 60% / 30% / 10%; the dedicated grotto guide gives 60% / 32% / 8%.)
Changed in recent builds: the Lake of Rage grotto now lists Oricorio-Sensu where older guides show Maushold.
